I finally broke down and started to use my welder ;D... My first project is a slider, Go easy on me  ... Here is the breakdown... This pic is from over a year ago so you cna amagine how bad the rockers were...  A bit of trimming...still not positive how much i'm going to bite off...  Ok this much...  Getting an idea of what it is going to look like...  2 outside bracket's  Front...  Mocked up...   Both ends buttoned up and all the brackets on...  As it sit's now... I need a hand to get it in place and put on the truck and start another one.  Hopefully it will hold up to some abuse. I definately need some new tools now...lol... A pipe bender maybe...lol... |

I don't even know where to sart on this... Shit i thought we'd talked about the fact i got a buggy now, and i had a set of 60's for it, that I'd probably be using those parts... In no way shape or form was i trying to fuck you around, I know we talked last time home about me getting some metal and what i would need. and i was thinking i would get you to build some shit for me and i was thinking i would give you cash... But fawk man i have had a welder for 3 years and was too scared to try it, sounds corney i know but such is life. So anyway i gave it a hook and turns out i can do it... maybe not very well but ya got to start somewhere right... I'm sorry you feel i've burnt you. I didn't realize you were counting on those parts and if that really is the case we'll i'll work something out with you... |

Rails look good to me ,first time messing with welder.  I got to make me a set,my rockers are new as of last year but both side are dented in already!  |

no way man....... i asked u after u got the buggy if our deal was still on.... you told me it was..... cause u wanted to get the werk done to old blue ...as fer the truggy u was figuring a long term project .....thats what you told me ...then not another word ..i'm no mind reader....
hey i think is great that u'r doing it ... thats how most of learn ...but i bought extra plasma tips, tips for my welder and got the bottle filled ...yes i know it's stuff i;m going to use but the winter is slow and that was money i could of put into spare stubs and u joints... stuff i thought i was getting but now i have wait ...soo luck with u'r build

Yes correct Malcolm, I did say I wanted you to do work for me last time I was home, and had full intentions of some how getting my truck up to you to do it, but i just can't right now, Money is tight for me as well so the only metal I bought cost me 80 bucks. I had the time and most of the gear so I gave it a shot... I didn't say I could do all the welding I want done myself as I have a lot to learn, but a slider is pretty easy compared to doing the cage work I would like to have done. I just gave it a hook, and you want to make me look like some sort of asshole for that. It has always been my understanding that your a really busy guy, I didn't know you were counting on making my sliders for me, or had gone out and bought extra gear for the job already. Here's what I will do for you to make up the trouble I have somehow caused you I'll split the cost of the tips and gas with ya and if your just looking for spare stubs you can have the set i'll be replacing... You have mail...

if your just looking for spare stubs you can have the set i'll be replacing..
more than likely these will be 30 spline ...not much good to me when i got 35 spline stubs.....go extra 30 now

Yes i know what i said and shit changes... My bad...I'm kind of a fly by the seat of my pant's kind of guy as opposed to having a plan and sticking to it. I still have no way to get my rig anywhere and won't for awhile. I was supposed to pick up a set of rims from Beau, then i need rubber to put on them so i can get Old Blue on a normal trailer,But haven't had the opertunity to go see him and until then am stuck here, DJ has been waiting for me to come by for 2 weeks now... But thats my life, when you have 3 1/2 weeks to do 3 months worth of shit, your plans change on a daily basis. And yes steel is a bit more than i was expecting... And as for the stubs...with any luck it will work out... The set i am getting is built so ya never know... |

Hey guys I think I'm going to interject my 2 cents here (whether it's wanted or not  ) I think the anger and bad feelings that came about because of this deal was due primarily to a lack of communication. Dereck when plans changed in your mind, whether it was due to problems transporting your rig, lack of time, finances, or whatever, it would have been courteous let Malcolm know. I'm sure he would have understood your situation and there would have been no hard feelings. I believe the hard feelings arose when he thought the deal was still on, as he had heard nothing from you to the contrary, and then you posted pics of the sliders he was supposed to be building for you. So he got a little upset, especially since he went out and purchased some supplies for the job. Anyway, it all boils down to communication. Poor communication leads to misunderstands and bad feelings like what happened here, and it could have been avoided. So hopefully you guys can work something out. Cheers, Cindy |
