Had some 1/4 " angle iron kicking around,its racking bracing for warehouse storage racks.Anyway got a bunch for free.its 4ft long,all the 8ft was taken before I got to it.

Had an idea for a rear bumper for the XJ for awhile and got energetic today for abit!
Here's the stock

Started chopping it up and fitting together...

Grinded my welding area and tack together some.Was low on wire today so will pick some up and finish welding later..

This is the back side of bumper,have too fab some brackets to mount on the JP but not today.

This will be the finished side once I'm done!

Will grind clean,prime and paint black.I usually rockguard to give it a bumpy look,will see when its done....

Got at it again this weekend,I want it on to go wheeling next weekend! ;D
Welded up some brackets on the back of jeep.

and welded brackets to bumper so I can bolt on.

test fitted on XJ before final weld of all mounts..

Painted back of jeep before bumper gets put on there.

Stripped paint and grounded welds and primed and will leave for a few days then mount on XJ and paint black.

Will post up final pics end of week....

On and painted,nothing fancy but very stout.1/4 inch angle iron so should stand up to some abuse.Will look better once it gets rubbed up a bit on the rocks and stuff to match the rest of the XJ...

Future plans some rocker protection,they are already stowed in from some rock crawlin,soon be into my doors!
