Got a question about winches. I have a 8000lb champion winch, now i took it apart fully and found a lot of dirty grease inside. So i cleaned it up, fixed a gear that was loose. Now do i put a lot of grease back inside and if so does it matter of the type. The reason i took it apart is that when i get a lot of pull on it, it suddenly just let's go. I try it again and the samething. ??

Yes i found the problem with it. It was the springs in the clutch. Replaced the springs and refilled with teflon grease and she is ALLLL GOOD. Working better than ever too. Made a big difference putting a better type of grease in it. Hope this helps jeff.
