I follow you now. I'm still undecided. After I get all the parts I still need at PA tommorrow and see what it costs, I may splurge and get the pressure switch and mount it underhood like you're doing. I've got access to lots of wire. I was told that ordinary pressure hose won't take the heat off the compressor. I'm told PA sells something similar that is high temp.

You already have the switch ,use the one that's on the tank and you can mount it up front . You are right about the hose from the pump but that's not how mine is . I am using the factory ac hose to a steel line to the pressure switch then from the pressure switch to the tank with regular air hose.
I will be doing mine this weekend i hope ,weather permitting .

Right on. Maybe I'll attempt something similar. I may even try to plumb in the original line from the mini compressor...it's copper or something and has a ton of cooling fins on it. It's about a foot and a half long. Maybe I could install it between the a/c line and the rubber line to further cool the air.
I'm busy this weekend but I got most of my parts today at PA so maybe I'll start fiddling with it next week in the evenings.
Let me know how it goes.

I'm so pissed. I was out driving the backroads and I could feel some little clunking in the steering. I suspected my track bar again but it turns out it's the adjuster on the drag link up by the pitman arm. I had it lined up and the steering wheel straightened at a local shop after the lift and it's wound out so far it must be wearing the end of the clamp part out. If I can't tighen the clamp to fix I may just weld it all the way around.

I have my O.B.A. installed and works great so far . 3/8 steel line from the pump steel line goes to the check valve i robed off the tank from the check valve is a reducer to 1/4" ntp fitting into the pressure switch ,air pressure gauge mounted to the top , coupler on the right , regular air hose goes to the back where the tank is mounted inside with another coupler and blow off valve . I traded some parts and helped some guys with their rigs and the total cost out of my pocket is around 40-45 bucks and works great so far. pumps form 0lbs to 125lbs in about 1 minute @ 1500-1700 rpm . I plan on a hand throttle for this . ;D hope this helps. Just about everything from the tank is under the hood and tank just has a coupler and blow off valve in it . All the other holes i plugged.

Hey all, I've been MIA from here for too long. Been busy. Bought a new toy for my new property. A '53 Ford Tractor. Re-wired it, all new fuel lines and filter, cleaned the carb and had the fuel tank repaired and lined. Runs like a song.
I haven't touched my OBA stuff since I bought all the necessary parts at PA a month ago. But I'm starting another mod...rear bumper project! I got some free 2" heavy steel pipe. I borrowed a bender and made some bends that turned out sorta crappy but I'll use them anyway.
Also ordered my dream tool...New Miller 211 mig welder! It's on it's way! I'll build the bumper when I get it.

Sweetness Al! The hand throttle would be awesome while using the air. Here's my Tractor for anyone who cares. Attachments:

So I forgot to tell you all why the new rear bumper project is now priority over the OBA project. I was running some backroads and when I got home I noticed my bumper was sagging badly. No surprise, when I bought it I had to replace the bolts cause they were worn through and at that time I noticed there was very little left of the brackets. I literally pulled the old bumper off with my hands and was left with this ugly ass thing. You can see where I marked it for trimming. Attachments:

Here's what the corners look like now. I have since trimmed the tailpipe so it doesn't stick out so far, someday I may change it and run it up higher to the body. When I build my bumper it will have one solid pipe with 90's wrapping around the corners. There will be 2 short bent pieces on top at the corners to fill in under the tail lights and one shorter straight piece below a little wider than the hitch. I'll use the factory mount locations and tie it in to the hitch for strength. Attachments:

And Jeff, man, I want to get out soooo bad, but it's gonna have to wait. Between work, weekend work, the wife and child and moving at the end of the month; I'm so busy I barely have time to shake it off before I zip up. ;D
Soon brother...soon.
